Background
Project Playground is a registered Trust operating for children’s rights to development and opportunities. Founded in 2010, we have ten years of experience in developing and facilitating programs aimed at strengthening the self-esteem and ambitions of children and youth through structured after school programs. Programs offered include education, sports and the arts, as well as an in-house social work division with focus on therapeutic intervention and family strengthening initiatives. Project Playground additionally runs two day-care facilities for children living with profound disabilities.
A Project Playground social worker caters to the psychosocial wellbeing of the organisation’s participants and their families. This individual is responsible for the implementation of micro, meso and macro interventions to enhance the quality of life of the individuals in his/her care, using skills and techniques unique to the profession of social work.

Specific responsibilities
INTERVENTIONS
-
Manage and improve processes aimed at enhancing the psychosocial status of participants
-
Assess participants which may need psychosocial support
-
Ensure that appropriate intervention plan for respective participant is created and executed
-
Ensure that Project Playground’s ethos of individuality is met in terms of intervention plans
-
Liaising with staff of relevant participant receiving or in need of psychosocial support
-
Attending or contributing to court cases
-
Follow up and report writing
-
Source, set up and facilitate participant/parents workshops & trainings
STAFF DEVELOPMENT
-
Source, set up and facilitate workshops & trainings
-
Attend staff meetings
NETWORKING
-
Build network with relevant institutions and stakeholders relating to social work
-
When required, represent Project Playground at events
TRAINING
-
Attend trainings and conferences relating to social work and general as requested by supervisor
REPORTING
-
Submit monthly, quarterly and bi-annual reports deemed relevant by social work to supervisor.
