As the pandemic continues to impact us, both directly and indirectly, Project Playground is inviting your family to take part in the spirit of ubuntu by helping to support another family through these challenging times and beyond.

I am HEALTHY because we are HEALTHY.
Over the past year, the concept of ubuntu (I am because we are) and the interconnection of all of humanity has become exceptionally clear. We have seen how the health of an individual can affect a community and the health of one country can affect the globe. There is no denying that what one person does can affect those around them and, ultimately, the whole of humanity.

I am SAFE because we are ISOLATED.
Yet, we have also seen the detrimental impact of losing the physical part of this interconnection, as we all closed our doors to our friends and our neighbours in order to keep them safe. Despite being apart, we came together for the wellbeing of our community.
​
I am WELL because we are NEIGHBOURS.
But, the consequences of this necessary distance has impacted all aspects of life, from mental well-being to economic stability. And the impact weighed differently on everyone. For some it meant extreme solitude and depression. For others it meant job loss and hungry children who could no longer get school meals. Whatever the personal impact was, we had to—and still do—rely on one another to get through it.

Project Playground provides social work interventions that address urgent needs of families, ranging from providing food parcels to providing individual and family therapy.
​
We are asking for your support, in the spirit of ubuntu, to become a monthly donor to help support another family who is in severe need through these challenging times and beyond.

Here’s how it works:

Become a monthly donor (make sure to include your email address)

Those who contribute R350 or more per month will receive:

An overview of the family you are helping and their situation as soon as you have registered

An update on your family’s progress and situation every second month by our social workers
