INTERIM MANAGER

PLAY ON WHEELS

4 month maternity leave substitute

Location; Langa & Gugulethu  

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To supervise the Play one Wheels Team to ensure the learning and development of children with special needs according to the programmes put in place.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Daily programme coordination

  • Supervise the implementation of the daily programme with the carers/ practitioners according to the Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and curriculum set out by the Occupational Therapists guidance.

  • Oversee the overall stimulation programme with the carers and other role-players

  • Liaising with the educational support team when necessary

 

2. Ensuring implementation of the structured daily programme

  • Ensure that programme implementation occurs at both centres

  • Support the implementation of the IDPs in the classrooms

  • Be actively involved in the classrooms with the carers to ensure that the structured daily programme is delivered

  • Providing mentorship and support to the carers in the delivery of the programme

  • Ensure that all documentation as guided by the organisation and external stakeholders such as Department of Health are completed timeously and correctly.

 

3. Reporting

  • Ensure appropriate reporting from carers on daily activities and on the progress and development of children in the centre, as per Occupational Therapist’s recommended reporting systems 

  • In partnership with the class carers, communicate with parents about their child’s progress at the centre and encourage parents to use the child’s IDP’s at home.  

  • Complete monthly reports to the organisation's director. Ensure that Quarterly M&E reviews are completed.

  • Receive monthly submission of class programme from carers

 

4. Administrative Tasks

  • Responsible for all administrative tasks related to the above and as applicable within the centre context including reporting line function requirements

  • Monthly reports and record keeping regarding the programme implementation submitted to all government departments as part of the organisation’s progress reports

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Qualification/Experience in Supervision

  2. Administrative competence. 

  3. Experience in the disability sector is beneficial(certificate of recognition of prior learning necessary)

  4. Ability to work in a team.

  5. SAPS Name Clearance
