KEY PARTNERS
These partners have committed to long term financial contributions towards empowerment

National Lotteries Commission
The NLC relies on funds from the proceeds of the National Lottery. The Lotteries Act
guides the way in which NLC funding may be allocated. The intention of NLC funding is
to make a difference to the lives of all South Africans, especially those more vulnerable
and to improve the sustainability of the beneficiary organisations. Available funds are
distributed to registered and qualifying non-profit organisations in the fields of charities;
arts, culture and national heritage; and sport and recreation. By placing its emphasis on
areas of greatest need and potential, the NLC contributes to South Africa’s development.
Western Cape Government
Department of Social Development

The Department of Social Development ensures that a comprehensive network of social development services is provided to enable and empower the poor, vulnerable and those with special needs. The Department of Social Development supports Project Playground. We look forward to their continued support and a relationship that grows from strength to strength.

Food Forward SA
Established in 2009 to address widespread hunger in South Africa, FoodForward SA connects a world of excess to a world of need by recovering quality edible surplus food from the consumer goods supply chain and distributing it to community organisations that serve the poor. FoodForward SA is the largest food redistribution organisation in South Africa. They implement a model called food banking. Retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, farmers and growers partner with them to recover their edible surplus food and distribute it responsibly to provide greater access to food for vulnerable groups across our country. FoodForwardSA supports Project Playground. We look forward to their continued support and a relationship that grows from strength to strength.
